Several new features and updates in our October release help make your field teams even more productive. While we continue as the Fastest In The Field®, we have increased the power of collaboration features in BIManywhere based on global client feedback. We welcome your continued suggestions at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Talk, Don’t Type
You can now voice record and share field issues with a single finger – instead of typing them. Recordings are available to all field workers, as well as to office staff.
Create your own checklists: punch lists, inspection lists, whatever. Customize them on the fly and/or base them on standard templates. Checklists can be used in field issues to document process status and completion.
Two measurement tools provide easier to read, more intuitive results for multiple clearances and point to point measurements. The Clearance Measurement tool can display clearance in two dimensions at once, if the selected objects are diagonally offset (as shown).
Collaborators, supervisors, and managers can keep track of issues via email updates as ‘followers’, without being directly assigned to the issues.
Using our new Archive button, Project Managers can unclutter issues lists by storing issues that are not immediately relevant, or have been closed, and restoring them later as needed.
Improved Gyroscope Button
Our iPad Gyroscope control allows full 3D roaming to look behind ceilings, walls, and floors. Touch the control and hold it while moving the iPad up, down, and around. Slide the control down to “lock” Gyroscope mode on. Touch the control briefly to unlock and release it.
For on-the-job training, iPad users may touch the circled “I” in the lower left corner while viewing a model and receive animated help on navigation and operation. Touch the screen to hide the tips.
FEBUARY 24, 2015
BIManywhere is proud to announce users can now link MEPS floor plans or shop drawings to 3D BIM models.
We continue to lead the industry with our innovative 2D and 3D navigation we built specifically for use “in the field.” Our engineers continue to deliver by adding the ability to switch between different types of 2D floor plans such as dry / wet mechanical, plumbing, steel / concrete, or a reflected ceiling plan.
We worked with all types of sub-contractors and trades to understand actual needs “in the field.” With the input from superintendents and foremen from various MEPS trades, as well as facilities engineers, our users can now take advantage of the extra details provided on shop drawings and be able to switch between trades. And of course, a simple “tap and hold” from any 2D floor plan will take the user directly to that location in the 3D BIM model.
What is also very useful is that all issues created will show up in the exact spot, regardless of which drawing you’re looking at or how many times it’s been updated, thanks to our location-intelligent system.

Now that you’re ready to buy iPads for your jobsite, the first question that comes to mind is “Should I get the iPad 2(and save $100) or the iPad Air?”
The second question is, naturally, “How will this decision affect the productivity on my jobsite?”
We are BIManywhere and we are bringing technology where it matters the most – the field. We want to share our experiences, job walks, and lessons learned from our customers to not only drive conversation, but also drive the actions that can help bring field technology to the people who need it the most. Feel welcome to join our conversations and share with us your experiences that can help us drive the change that field-BIM can bring to the construction industry.
